Hon Minister will speak on the current trend on Global warming, its adverse impact on the environment and the repercussions to the global economy.

Today, the world is facing a multifaceted, socio-economic and environmental global crisis,   namely financial crisis, fuel crisis, food crisis and water crisis due to the unsustainable use of natural resources.

One of the major causes for these environmental problems is the increase of Greenhouse Gases in the atmosphere which has resulted in global warming and climate change. Impacts of Climate Change will deprive the livelihood of inhabitants, as a consequence of sea level rise, extreme weather patterns like storms, cyclones, severe rainfalls and droughts. Further, it will directly influence many sectors including agriculture, tourism, industry, health, water, and energy.

Therefore, the Chamber in keeping with the world trend on global warming, has invited the Hon Minister as a Guest Speaker to speak on this subject to increase public awareness and to better understand of the problem of Global warming and its impact on the country’s economy.
